Combining LinkedIn People Search and LinkedIn Company Search at Scale
Overcoming LinkedIn’s Search Limitations: A Scalable 6-Step Guide to Finding Specific Individuals in Targeted Companies
LinkedIn's search functions for people and companies are separate, posing a problem when you need to find specific individuals within particular types of companies. Here's why this separation is an issue and a detailed method to overcome it.
The Problem
People Search: Allows searching for individuals but not filtering by detailed company criteria.
Company Search: Allows searching for companies but not filtering individuals within them.
For instance, you can't execute a query like: "Find people with the title 'IT Manager OR IT Director' in companies with 50-100 employees, where the company description includes 'Design agency OR SaaS'."
Manually entering company names is feasible for a few companies but impractical for hundreds or thousands. Here's a scalable solution.
Solution: A 6-Step Process
Find Companies with the Company Search:
Use LinkedIn's “Company Search” to identify relevant companies based on your criteria.
Extract Companies from LinkedIn:
Gather a list of these companies. Use tools like Phantombuster’s “LinkedIn Search Export” to automate this process.
Find the Company ID for Each Company:
Retrieve the unique company ID for each company in your list. Use Phantombuster’s “LinkedIn Company Scraper” to obtain these IDs.
Create a People Search Query with Company IDs:
LinkedIn limits you to entering about 50 company names per search. If you need to search within 250 companies, create five separate searches, each containing 50 companies.
Please feel free to use our Google Sheets template.
Below is a 2-min video tutorial on how you can build a search query for people, incorporating the company IDs.
Execute the People Search URL on Inguro:
Copy and paste the LinkedIn search URL into Inguro for execution.
By following these steps, you can effectively scale your LinkedIn searches to handle larger datasets and more complex criteria, overcoming the limitations of LinkedIn's separate search functions.
